The rules are tightening, and the window is moving.
Registration is shifting from “if you want to” toward “you need to.” From 1 July 2026, registration becomes mandatory for Supported Independent Living (SIL) and platform providers, and the NDIS Amendment (Integrity and Safeguarding) Act 2025 has introduced serious penalties for operating unregistered where registration is required. With audits taking time to plan and pass, the providers who move early are the ones who stay ahead of the deadline.

Questions providers ask us
Do I need to register?
Not always. Some supports can be delivered unregistered to self-managed and plan-managed participants. But registration is mandatory for certain supports (including SDA, specialist behaviour support, plan management and, from 1 July 2026, SIL and platform providers), and the direction of travel is towards more, not less. We’ll tell you honestly where you sit.
What's the difference between a verification and a certification audit?
Verification is a lighter, desktop-based audit for lower-risk supports. Certification is a two-stage audit, including an on-site visit, for higher-risk supports. Importantly, if any of your registration groups needs certification, your whole application follows the certification pathway.
How long does registration take?
It depends on your size, your supports and their complexity. As a planning guide, expect anywhere from a few months to the better part of a year, which is exactly why starting early matters.
Can you guarantee I'll be approved?
No one honestly can, and you should be wary of anyone who promises it. What we can do is make sure your application is accurate, your evidence is real, and you’re genuinely ready, which is what gives you the best possible chance.
